Teen Volunteering at the Bennett Civic Center Library

The Teen Volunteer program at the Bennett Civic Center Library is designed to give teens an opportunity to earn community service credit as well as to provide a "real world" working experience so that they can begin building a work history.
Teen volunteers generally perform the following tasks: Maintain tidiness of library shelves, Assist with program preparations, Assist librarians during programs, Assist with library collection assessment (weeding), Other special projects, as assigned.
Teen Volunteers typically work two hours a week at the Library. Teen volunteers work under the direct supervision of the Teen Volunteer Coordinator, and are scheduled to volunteer only during the Coordinator’s working hours. Volunteer Contract
By registering as a Teen Volunteer, I am committing my time and service to the Livonia Public Library. I agree to appear on time for any scheduled volunteering sessions, or to provide notice of my absence as far in advance as possible. I agree to perform the tasks requested of me to the best of my ability, and to behave courteously as expected of a representative of the Library. I understand that if I fail to adhere to the terms of this contract, the Library may refuse acknowledgment of service and negate volunteer credit. The Library may terminate volunteer service at any time.
